Elizabeth Barnes (she/they) is an Employment Readiness and Placement Case Manager. At NSC, she provides case management and support to clients so they can achieve economic self sufficiency.

She holds her MA (Honours) in International Relations from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where her studies centered human rights, refugee policy, international government, and conflict analysis. After university, Elizabeth won a travel scholarship to pursue a yoga skill-building initiative in Greece and Uganda for refugees and survivors of human trafficking. They hold their 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification, and have been trained to offer trauma-informed yoga instruction.

Prior to NSC, Elizabeth worked at the Office of the Public Defender in Augusta, Georgia. As a Client Services Specialist, they advocated for clients, utilized community resources, and learned how the criminal legal system ensnares our most vulnerable community members. They also worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) member through the National Legal Aid and Defender Association.

Elizabeth brings their passion for service, appreciation for diverse experiences and backgrounds, and drive to expand equity and opportunity for clients to NSC.
