Camelia joined NSC in August 2022 as an Immigrant Justice Corps (IJC) Fellow. In this role, she represents immigrants on a wide range of affirmative and defensive cases, advocating for immigration relief. During her time at the University of Michigan Law School, Camelia discovered a passion for immigration law through various personal and professional experiences. She served as a student attorney at the Michigan Law Human Trafficking Clinic and the Civil Rights Litigation Initiative, a legal intern at Project South, and an extern at the University of Cape Town Refugee Rights Unit. Camelia applied for an IJC fellowship to continue advocating alongside and serving immigrant communities.
