What Immigration Means to the United States
Immigrants are entrepreneurs, consumers and taxpayers. They contribute to our country’s economic growth and create jobs. They are business leaders, artists, lawyers, and even our favorite corner shop owners. Nearly 1 in 5 Philadelphians in the labor force in 2016 was an immigrant according to The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Philadelphia research initiative. Immigrants are strong candidates to help fill labor shortages in various sectors, including our very own Dietz & Watson. The Center for American Progress stresses that a diverse workforce is necessary to leverage a company’s full potential. Immigrants are an investment and make America stronger! NSC is proud to serve over 5,000 immigrants and refugees each year from over 100 countries around the world to strengthen the social and economic fabric of Philadelphia.
