Lilah Thompson
Supervising Attorney - PA Immigrant Family Unit Project
Lilah Thompson is the Supervising Attorney of the Pennsylvania Immigrant Family Unity Project (PAIFUP), Pennsylvania’s first publicly-funded defense counsel project for noncitizens in immigration detention. She joined NSC in February 2020.
Lilah represents clients pro bono in removal and bond proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals, and manages PAIFUP's operations. Lilah also works closely with community partners and attorneys throughout Pennsylvania and the United States towards the mission of providing universal representation to all noncitizens who are unable to afford counsel, and in support of a more just immigration system that reflects the needs and lived experiences of those experiencing deportation and detention
Prior to joining NSC, Lilah worked at the U.S. Department of Justice as an Attorney Advisor at the New York and Philadelphia Immigration Courts through the DOJ Honors Program. Lilah is a 2017 graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law and a 2011 graduate of Franklin & Marshall College. During law school, Lilah interned in the government, at various nonprofit immigration legal services organizations, and at private immigration firms, while serving as president of the Student Public Interest Network and National Lawyers Guild. She was also a Temple Law & Public Policy Scholar and member of the ICC moot court. Lilah is a member of the Pennsylvania bar and is fluent in Spanish. She has served as the Chair of the EOIR Liaison Committee for the Philadelphia Chapter of AILA since 2020.
