Lexie Ruth Mitchell

High Medical Needs ESOL Instructor

Lexie is the ESOL Instructor in NSC's High Medical Needs ESOL program, which offers English classes to caregivers and individuals with high medical needs that make accessing normal English classes difficult or impossible.

Lexie has taught in English classrooms in Kyrgyzstan, India and Iowa before moving to Philadelphia in 2022. She studied Religion and Linguistics at Columbia University after living in India for 4+ years after high school.

Outside of her work at NSC, Lexie is a hospice volunteer and death doula, passionate about preparing for and caring for others at the end of life. She teaches classes at her local community center about end-of-life preparation and hosts a death cafe in NW Philadelphia.
