Pathways to Success Program (PSP)

The Pathways to Success Program (PSP) serves 16-24 year olds in Philadelphia who are not currently enrolled in school. The program aims to provide youth with career pathway guidance in a specific industry or to support youth in entering post-secondary schooling.

Services Provided

English Language Instruction:

  • PSP assists refugee and immigrant youth in Philadelphia who are English Language Learners.
  • Participants are enrolled in English language courses with one-on-one tutoring to build the necessary English skills either to enroll in an industry-recognized credential training or to attend post-secondary school. Participants may also be referred to external ESL providers if needed.
  • PSP is not a one size fits all program, it is designed for the individual participant. Curriculum is developed specific to the individual in order to assist them with accomplishing their goals within the program.

GED Prep:

  • PSP assists refugee and immigrant youth that seek to obtain their high school diploma.
  • Participants are enrolled in an online asynchronous GED prep platform where they can learn at their own pace and on their own schedules.
  • Participants are also connected to one-on-one tutoring with program staff to ensure they are ready to pass their exams.
  • Referrals for in-person classes are also provided to program participants. 

Occupational Skills Training:

  • PSP connects program participants to Occupational Skills Trainings that are deemed in high demand sectors.
  • These include: Certified Nursing Assistant, Dental Assistant, Interpretation, Web Design, COMPTIA A+, among others.
  • PSP staff will ensure program participants are fully prepared to enroll in a training program and pass their respective certification exams. 

Post Secondary Enrollment Support:

  • PSP assists program participants in completing the enrollment process for post-secondary education.
  • Program participants are referred to the Community College of Philadelphia, trade schools, and pre-apprenticeships.
  • Services provided include: Submission of applications, campus tours, FASFA applications, and eligibility support. 

Light Case Management:

  • Participants are provided referral-based case management services to ensure they are connected to resources that can help them solely focus on their goals and not their basic needs. 

Financial Supportive Services and Incentives:

  • PSP aims to eliminate barriers to employment and post-secondary schooling through supportive services and incentives. Participants who are actively engaged in programming are eligible to receive financial support for training costs, transportation, and classroom materials.
