NSC Participates in World TB Day Event
NSC's Director of Health and Wellness presented on the Philadelphia Refugee Health Collaborative's innovative approach to connecting refugee patients to long-term medical homes and the important role the collaborative plays in TB identification and treatment in the Philadephia region.
In commemoration of World TB Day, the Philadelphia Department of Health, the Global Tuberculosis Institute at Rutgers, and the Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health jointly sponsored a CME/CNE certified education event addressing TB prevention and control efforts for the city of Philadelphia and surrounding areas. The conference included information on current TB trends in Philadelphia, challenges and opportunities for TB elimination, forging partnerships for TB elimination, diabetes and other risk factors for progression to TB disease, diagnosis and treatment of TB infection in specific populations.
