NSC Elects New Board Chair
The Board of Trustees of Nationalities Service Center (NSC) has elected Mohamed Nabil Bakry, Esq. as its new Board Chair, beginning his term in January 2017. Mohamed has been a member of the NSC Board of trustees since 2012. He served on the Program and Personal Committee, the Nominating and Governance Committee, and the Executive Committee.
Mohamed is an attorney at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, focusing a large portion of his practice on the defense of product liability litigation. In this capacity, he defends manufacturers of all sizes against claims alleging design defects, failure to warn and breach of warranty matters. He is additionally experienced in asbestos litigation, defending product manufacturers, suppliers and premises owners in asbestos-related cases. Mohamed actively participates in arbitration and major jury trial cases from inception to the final resolution. In representing clients, he handles all phases of litigation, including the initial case investigation, discovery, depositions, motion practice and the preparation of witnesses for trial.
Mohamed also represents clients facing criminal charges, having previously worked for the non-profit Defender Association of Philadelphia. He has served as lead counsel in both bench and jury trials, from inception to resolution, and has appeared in Municipal Court, Family Court and the Court of Common Pleas throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
The Board of Trustees also elected four new and returning members to the Board:
• Shimma Abdulla, DMD, founder of Rittenhouse Dentists and an active member of the American Dental Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.
• Marc Altshuler, MD, Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Jefferson Medical College and Attending Physician and the Associate Resident Director for the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
• Alina Ispas, IMPACT Leadership Program at SAP America.
• Anne Wilms, an executive consultant to CAI with more than 20 years' senior executive experience in information technology and human resources.
