A Moment in Time: NSC at 95

In the early 1970s, NSC began offering services for immigrant senior citizens in partnership with other agencies. A 1975 doucment noted that the goal of the program was "to locate individuals over 60 who are not linked or have limited access to regular channels due to language, culture, or environment." Each week, employees and volunteers would go door-to-door to connect with senior citizens, identify needs, and offer referrals to the local senior centers that provided meals, activities, classes and friendship.
