Honoring Immigrant Advocates

On Tuesday, May 3rd, NSC hosted Global Tastes 2016, our annual celebration of Philadelphia's diverse communities through food! It was truly an inspired evening of culturally diverse food, lively entertainment, and meaningful connections. Special moments, including Mayor Kenney's comments and Councilman David Oh's citation in honor of NSC's 95th anniversary, added to the excitement.

At the event, NSC honored Mr. John Chou with the Nationalities Service Award in recognition of his support for immigrants and refugees in the Philadelphia region. The American Red Cross of Eastern Pennsylvania was also presented with the Margaret Harris Award in honor of their generous in-kind support of NSC's Bridging the Gap medical interpreter training program.
