Sephora Kolelas is a case manager in the Employment Readiness and Placement Program and is dedicated to helping clients overcome any barriers that prevent them from achieving self-sufficiency in the field of work, but also in their daily lives, and strives to ensure clients reach all of their short term and long term goals.
Originally from the Republic of Congo, Sephora moved to Washington D.C for a greater life with her family. After relocation to the U.S and the hardships she faced in the process, she realized how much she wanted to give back to those in need, especially in communities who are at greater disadvantages. While working towards her Bachelors of Science degree in Family Science at the University of Maryland College Park, Sephora was an Employment intern at a refugee resettlement agency near the Washington D.C area. As an intern, she formed strong relationships with her clients, helping them prepare for job interviews with the use of Job Readiness Seminars, as well as accompany them to find professional clothing. It was during her internship that Sephora found her love for helping immigrant families.
Now a student studying to obtain her Masters in Social Work, Sephora hopes to continue to learn about how to better serve her community and better aid her current and future clients, ensuring they achieve all their goals and dreams in the U.S.
