Islam Algodi joined NSC as the Refugee Resettlement Specialist in 2016. He works closely with public and private partners to secure housing and resources for newly arriving refugees. Islam conducts outreach with landlords and property management companies to secure the housing. He partners with donors and volunteers to prepare the homes for new arrivals and works closely with case managers to help clients understand housing expectations in the United States. Prior to joining NSC, Islam spent two years doing pre-arrival coordination with Inter-Faith Ministries of Greater Houston in Texas.
Islam has eight years’ experience with USAID under the Management Systems International (MSI) and Research Tringle Institute (RTI) projects. Islam was part of a team of development experts in the fields of monitoring and evaluation, public sector reform, governance and anti-corruption. His efforts and those of his team forged close relationships with international partners to achieve effective development outcomes for the future of Iraq. Islam holds a B.A. in Science from Iraq University in Baghdad.
