Isabel is a Case Manager on NSC’s Anti-Human Trafficking Team. Her interest in immigration and desire to help alleviate some of the challenges faced by immigrant communities began in her childhood, when she learned that a close family friend couldn’t return to her home country to visit her mother who was ill. Isabel never considered herself a first-generation American until recently, when she encountered the very same obstacle with her own father who was Scottish.
Isabel graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature, and Political Science. Prior to joining NSC, Isabel studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina and worked as a legal assistant at a private immigration law firm in Philadelphia for nearly three years. Isabel has volunteered as an ESL and homework help tutor with HIAS Pennsylvania, a bilingual afterschool tutor with Puentes Hacia el Futuro, and an SAT tutor at Parkway West High School in West Philadelphia.
