Ellen Ramage provides case management as part of the Continuum of Care (CoC) team. This team operates the Refugee Employment and Advancement Program (REAP) which prepares nearly 200 refugees annually for employment and self-sufficiency. Ellen uses a client-centered and strengths-based approach to provide a holistic set of supportive services to reduce the barriers to employment including enrolling children in daycare, helping them access English classes and maintain welfare benefits.
Prior to working at NSC, Ellen served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps with the YMCA International Service in Houston, TX, supporting the legal department with asylum applications and the recruitment of pro-bono attorneys. Ellen's previous experience with refugees include her internship with USCRI Albany and her studies in Dakar, Senegal ,with a resettlement agency. She also has experience in teaching English and developing English as a Second Language (ESL) programs domestically and abroad. Ellen has a B.A. in French and International Studies from Colby College.
