Lead Refugee Operations Specialist

Department
Resettlement

Eva Isabel was born in Honduras, and raised in Pennsylvania. In 2019, she graduated from the University of South Carolina, BA in German, with Distinction. She became interested in resettlement work, due to Germany's involvement in the Syrian refugee crisis, while studying abroad in that country.  Between 2019 - present, she has interned at HIAS PA's Refugee Resettlement Program and Jewish Family Service's Refugee Integration Support Effort. She is currently leading a Latino Facilitation Group at JFS - and is a penpal for detainees with Detention Resistance. Languages and culture have driven Eva Isabel to work in refugee resettlement. Fluent in German, Eva Isabel is now focused on Spanish.  From traveling the world with her family, she has seen how people maintain their traditions - and how NSC's clients learn to adapt to a new lifestyle.  Eva Isabel is thrilled to be part of the team at Nationalities Service Center!
