Mental Health Interpreter Training 2023

This training will prepare professional interpreters for mental health therapy assignments and will cover the following topics:

  • Ethics and confidentiality in person, by phone, by video
  • Role of interpreter in therapy session and the therapeutic triad Clarification of interpreter protocol in therapy sessions
  • Mental health terminology and concepts
  • Critical incident protocols
  • Therapy approaches (talk therapy, creative therapy, therapeutic tools)
  • Self-awareness and professional boundaries
  • Scenario practice and discussion
  • Vicarious trauma and self-care

Investment

  • Individual/ Small Organization (1-49 staff) : $100 per person
  • Medium Organization (50-100 staff): $150 per person
  • Large Organization (100+ staff): $200 per person
